An extremely creepy, yet cool video of what Resident Evil 4 could have been.

re4 - 5-4 all enemies knifed - no damage - パート 2
9:51
Ok, part 2 of the knife-all-enemies no-damage challenge for 5-4.
JJ can be knifed on the first ladder (near the pit,) using TESTMK2's awesome strategy :), or he can be thrust into the ocean the way I do :P, which is funner, but may take longer. :P JJ takes a while to get there too. But remember: patience is a great cheap exploit for getting no-damage, so it makes it a LOT easier. :)
Getting JJ into the ocean isn't difficult. It just requires good placement of Leon. Also, I aim the knife very little to make it more consistent each time. And I tend to press the A-button a little early to make sure the knife is well in motion by the time JJ gets there. :)
Now for the next part:
Getting rid of that first shield ganado before going in makes the next part so much easier. :)
Immediately run to the left behind that corner, and try to get the upper shield ganado and dynamite ganado down *as quickly as possible.* :) That will make it so much easier. I move Leon out past the edge of the wall a little bit, and aim a weapon at them to get them to hurry up. :P
Then the rest of this 1st part is easy. :) The ganado's dynamite will take out the 1st group, then the enemies will slowly trickle from the front platform 1 by 1, and can be finished on the ladder without the possibility for damage. :) For the archer, I stand back in the corner, and he'll climb the ladder without firing. (Same for the infinite axe-throwers.)
Then once those guys are done, I go to the machine gun on the left. You don't have to wait for the RL ganado to fire, I just did that this time. He's actually easier to knife up on the platform. But it's funny to see him shoot ground-zero. XD
Then thanks to TORAO's awesome find for the 1st gunner, you can just stand right next to him and knife him, and none of the other gunners will shoot Leon, for some reason. :) Thanks again to Torao for this. :)
Then this next part is the toughest portion of this area. If Mike doesn't shoot down the left-hand building, there's almost no safe place to jump down :(, because the ganados just tend to wander around at the base of the ladder, without climbing. :/ (A glitch.) So either the player has to wait until the ganados eventally climb the ladder, or take a chance at jumping down. And you can be sure if you have gotten this far without getting hit, the game will be trying to hit Leon. :/
Anyways, so I cut out about 3-4 minutes of waiting time there.
Then ideally, Mike has not blown up the first machine gun, on the other side of the base, but he did this time unfortunately (there's a cool strategy for that.) So I will add a video showing an easy way to deal with that machine gunner. :P タグ:re4residentevilchapter5-4knife 投稿日: February 28, 2008, 6:58 pm 閲覧数: 838 投票: 5.00(5点満点) 13 人の平均
re4 - all enemies knifed - 2 dr. salvadors - 4-3 mines
6:38
Ok, I don't take the key right away, because then the 3 extra enemies would spawn as soon as there's room, so that makes getting the chainsaw ganados' 10,000 pesatas difficult, since there would usually still be 3 ganados around.
I wait at the top of the stairs a bit (high enough to not alert the lower Dr. Salvador,) to draw the higher chainsaw ganado away from the ladder. (Usually one ganado gets stuck there, and that and it maybe producing a plagas are the only luck elements in the run.)
Then I quickly get to the downstairs door. I run *in front of* the door, so the torch ganado opens it and holds it open, making it so that I can run out without getting hit by the lady ganado with the knife or axe, and the others. Then I stay close to the wall for getting by the next ganados. (Always a good speed running / dodging technique; something I learned from Zeno.)
Then I try to walk slowly through the next part, because it gives the ganados time to gather, but I ran through it too fast this time. :( Usually there are no ganados in the way on the way back to the ladder. This time, I had to dodge 3-4.
Then I tend to wait or go slowly once up the stairs, watching the ganados to make sure most of them take the path on the left. And then run for the right. :) Occasionally a ganado or 2 will get stuck in that corner, where the axe-thrower was. Hopefully it won't be a chainsaw ganado.
Then climbing the ladder. In most cases (~4 out of 5 times,) Leon won't get hit when finished climbing the ladder, because the ganado will swing too early. That's one of the only luck elements in the run. It could be avoided possibly.
Having a luck element (or not a 100% element) in the run means Leon will *eventually* get hit, so it's not 100% good for a no-damage run. But still, it's a lot easier than knifing them all out in the open. XD With plagas and all.
Then just defeat the ganado like normal, while pushing down the ladder. I try to avoid knifing him as much as possible (ie. using more kicks,) because that will help minimize the chance of plagas.
Then the rest is easy. :) Just knife the ganados as they climb the ladder. Give the chainsaw ganados *2* slashes (3 is cutting it too close,) and if they don't fall by then, push the ladder down. XD That gives us a good, fail-safe way of knifing them. :) And gives us a way of controlling their somewhat sporadic / random stun shots. Also, I knife them in the head, because it seems to give them more chance of falling.
Anyways, once one of the chainsaw ganados is gone, I knife the other one on the ladder, and push it down. Then I jump out, gather the 10,000 pesatas from the 1st, raise the ladder, and climb back up for the second. :) There's enough time to do that. :)
Then when both Salvadors are done, I finish the other 2 (optional at this point,) and then get the *key.* Getting the key spawns 3 more ganados, and the rest is easy. :)
Again, the goal of these easy-strategy, no-damage videos is to find the easiest way to do what *should* have been the most difficult thing to do in the game. XD Beating all of Saddler's armies with the knife (not skipping enemies,) and never getting hit while doing it. XD So it's great to have a completely easy strategy for doing it. :) (Yes, I like easy stuff. :P I'm convinced most skills are simply finding the easiest way to get the result, cheap exploits and all.)
Also, for the 1st part around the campfire, the *other* ladder works even better. :) It's probably one of the best ladders in the game, because the ganados can't fall to a spot where the axe throwers could hit you from. :) So they can only fall to the left. :) Which means there's pretty much literally NO chance at all for them to hit Leon. XD So that would be a 100% strategy. :)
Anyways, I love finding cheap exploits like these to make these tasks very easy (similar to my speed run strategies, and mercenaries-Base 1st bonus chest strategy.) I think most skills involve some "cheap exploits" or the easiest possible way to get the result, so I'm happy to have found some cheap exploits for knifing most (if not all) of the enemies of the game. :)
And again, the skill lies in the strategy, not in the execution. :) (Or it wouldn't be a good strategy.) The key is usually figuring out how to funnel all these ganados through the very easy knifing points. :) Like in the 5-4 no-damage knifing videos. :) タグ:re4residentevilknifefightdr. 投稿日: March 5, 2008, 2:47 pm 閲覧数: 1834 投票: 4.90(5点満点) 16 人の平均
