Another one of my favorite Daiei Teen Soap-Opera dramas of the 80s (the title can be read - Never Look Back (Lit. Don't Turn Your Ponytail). This one starred lanky idol Ito Kazue. It was great seeing her in her short mini skirts, hotpants and jeans cutoffs which showed off her long legs. It was also fun seeing her get into all those fights using her wooden drum sticks as weapons. Ito starred in two other Daiei TV Dramas - "School Wars" and "Furyo Shojo Ni Yobarete".
Story:
Aso Miki (Ito Kazue) has had a rough life. Her mother died while she was only a baby and she was raised by her jazz drummer and musician father (Frankie Sakai)in the U.S. Naval Base Town of Yokosuka, Japan. She got into a lot of trouble as a kid and was eventually sent to juvenile detention after killing four Yakuza underlings during one of her Sukeban gang fights. After a year, on her 18th birthday, she was released but sadly found out that her father had died while she was serving time. He had left her his prized jazz drum set and now Miki has vowed to set her life straight and become a drummer musician like her father. She sets out to form her own rock house band but finds many hardships in finding young musicians to join the band. Yet slowly her talents shine through and others soon join her including failed professional keyboard musician and rebel Tamura Akira (Matsumura Yuuki) and playboy elite Medical School student Nagura Kunio (Tsurumi Shingo). Can Miki realize her dream while letting go of her troubled past as a Sukeban?

I love the "Daiei TV Drama" series like "スチュワーデス物語", "不良少女と呼ばれて", "ポニーテールは振り向かない", and "ヤヌスの鏡". I've only seen a couple of episodes of "アリエスの乙女たち" but liked it alot. The OP is one of the best and Kashiwabara Yoshie's theme song is awesome. Hope others will share some of the other Daiei TV Drama OPs that aren't on YouTube yet like "花嫁衣装は誰が着る" and "乳姉妹".
Story:
Transfer student Mizuho Kaoru (Minamino Yoko) has just enrolled into the prestigious Japanese High School Gyosei after several years abroad in Paris. A talented equestrian rider, she gains much fame riding her beloved horse "Electra" in various equestrian tournaments much to the jealousy of her fellow classmates. Kubo Emiko (Sakura Shiori), a fellow classmate and member of the school's drama club is her only ally and friend. Although they are a year apart, they share an uncanny connection with each other. They soon discover that they share another surprising connection as they are step-sisters (they share the same father) and are both born under the same constellation sign Aries. Thus begins their drama as they unravel their father's deception while also dealing with bitter rival and Sukeban leader Yuki Tsukasa (Matsumura Yuki),school president Isozaki Takashi (Ishibashi Tamotsu), and school advisor Oshita Naoki (Takuma Shin).
