Forrest and I had a pretty rough week - not a lot of outdoor time (colder weather) so he was inside the house almost all week and I could not keep a diaper on him to save my soul. I have tried using a tube sock but apparently the pair I used were too tight because his diaper did not stay on despite the snug elastic fit. This is probably a pretty bad video but Forrest wasn't cooperating with filming when I had light . . . oh, well. Anyway, he had a great week as his ulcers are healing and I had no major leakage from his diapers onto the flooring, which is a big "YEAH!!!" Also, Forrest had a great Thanksgiving. Although I did not get a turkey, my Mom brought one for those who do partake so Forrest had some too!! His tummy is getting too big - I think I may have to start monitoring the amount of food he gets everyday as his belly hangs over his diaper. LOL!! We lost heat yesterday a.m. and did not want to pay $200 (that's not even including the cost for labor or parts) just to have someone come out to the house. "Ball and JAXX"...I got to get this CD out to this kid who ordered it online....oh....IT'S DEFINATELY A PROCESS THAT TAKES ALOT OF TIME...and I have to do it before the post office closes....We also make a brief stop at my FAVORITE MUSIC studio to run into some Pittsburgh Superstars....ANNNND we go to a live hip hop show wit' my dawg...A-JAXX!!! Forrest finally has been able to play outside (Sunday being his 1st day out) after about staying inside due to 1 week's worth of rain. As you see in the video, he appears to be able to move his tail - his legs do move, but usually only in his sleep. We were watching my sister's dog this past weekend and Forrest was scared of him (despite his being great with cats) so I put in bed with me Saturday night - WRONG move! I had to get up around 5 am to change my bedding. His diaper is not, I repeat not, a sure thing!! LOL!! Anway, you can see that the little shaver is quick! We took Forrest to his vet appointment - he is doing well except for fleas - Arrrrahhgh!! Anyway, Forrest also had worms so everyone had to be treated!! We still our frustrated with his diaper falling off all the time as I no longer tape them around his waist. The problem is Forrest's irregular waist - it is not formed like a regular cat - it is much smaller. I am sure I will figure out something that works better in the future but for now . . . We are posting late because Forrest and the family stayed at my Mom's for the Labor Day weekend. Forrest did well (except Friday night - had loose stools but the diaper saved us from the big blowout) and played outside during most of the day. In this video I try and show how underdeveloped his hips and back legs are right now. Despite his disability, you see him attempting to play with our other kitten. This is how we get Forrest ready to face the morning - at a friend's home, we bring Forrest's a.m. preparation, i.e., baby shampoo, towel, warm water, bucket. Every a.m., Forrest has to have a mini- sits bath to remove all waste matter from his fur. We have cut the fur short around his rear quarters and tummy because the diaper has to be secured around his waist to ensure that it stays on throughout the night.
