horse racing oddity: jockey misjudges distance

For some reason I find oddities like this May 16, 2004 race very entertaining. The Hasta la Vista Handicap at Turf Paradise in Arizona is run at what today is an unusually long distance of 1 7/8 miles. This requires two full circuits of the course, rather than the usual one time around in most races. Unfortunately for jockey Jorge Carreno, he forgets that minor detail, creating a very unusual sitation. On a personal note, in the early 1980s, I recall Hall of Fame jockey Jorge Velasquez falling victim to the same mental lapse in the 2 1/4 mile Display Handicap at Aqueduct. ~STORY
This explanation is going to be awkward...I want to be a jockey, but my parents are so out of touch with horse racing...yeah. They're currently WAY in the way...and I mean, who can blame them? Would you want to send your daughter to Trinity or to have her get her head cracked open in a horse race? So, this was supposed to flatter horse racing and sort of nudge them in my direction. Jockeys I can pinpoint in the movie are Gary Stevens, Craig Perret, Channing Hill, Edgar Prado, Pat Day, Jerry Bailey, Kent Desormeaux, Jose Santos, and Mike Smith. There are definately others...I'm just too lazy to look more closely at the clips.

This is not my best work. Critique harshly; I will not care if you do or not. The only good part is the last clip, with the window. XD
~STORY
I love this, even though it isn't my best work. It should be illegal for one kid to have this much fun with Windows Movie Maker. I wasn't kidding when I said I had a lot of jockey stuff to move to YouTube. The last three clips are the best. And yes, that is me at 0:27. I went to Churchill Downs and stood where the queen stood at the Kentucky Derby.
