paraiso

3:12
"PARAISO" Music and Lyrics: Ryan Cayabyab Performed by: Smokey Mountain A ravaged childhood in a ravaged land, a paradise lost. Amidst the refuse of civilization, children strive to eke out some space to play, to make a living, to survive for yet another day. Yet their needs are simple—breathable air, some sort of shelter, and meager sustenance. Clean water for daily baths, good medical care, and decent education are nothing more than a gleam in somebody's fantasy. Even in the midst of such environmental decay, the children see some signs of hope— birds flying where no birds dared to be. And the children call out to anybody who cares to listen: "Help us make a stand! Make this paradise lost paradise regained."

save me a dream

3:10
SAVE ME A DREAM Music & Lyrics by: Paul Williams & Kenneth Lee Ascher Dusty houses. A dead tree right in their front yard. Smoke bellowing from smokestacks and passing ships. These images are interwoven around a child's sick sister. Unable to play with her ailing sibling, the child vents her frustrations on a series of drawings expressing her dreams—her visions of a cleaner, greener neighborhood and a sister who is up and about. Somehow, she stumbles on a simplistic solution to her dilemma, but one which has long-ranging effects. What's more, she promptly acts on it. The lyrics of the song sums it all up: "... Some dreams are lifeless They're light entertainment Meaning nothing more But there are dreams holding promise And pure inspiration worth waiting for..."

butchとchikki

2:58
butch&chikki Music & Lyrics by: YOYOY VILLAME Performed by: Dr. Virgilio E. Sanchez, Jr., M.D., F.P.P.S. He acts as if Earth's resources are limitless. She believes in the conservationists' mantra of the 3 Rs (reuse, reduce, recycle). He thinks it's no big deal. She is dead serious. Their two offspring follow this tug of war with interest, learning a lesson or two in the process. Eventually, he learns a lesson or two, himself: great campaigns do sprout from small beginnings, in each and every home. The story is set amidst the danceable "Butsekik," a song with strange jargon, ludicrous rhymes, and unintelligible words as lyrics. But this only underlines more strongly the fact that the language of Earth Conservation is so universal, it does not need actual words to convey its meaning. Butsekik! Ek...ek...eek!
