Something is wrong, very wrong......... I came across XEX through the 1990 cd reissue of their 1980 DIY classic album. Kitty was the track I played the most - delightfully freaked-out by the weird synths and lyrics from the pov of an evil child torturing a cat.... This was one of the first parallel universe music videos that I tried to make. The edit was done between vhs video recorders using a scart, then adding the audio during a recopy. I was obsessed with the work of Irene Shubik at the time, so incorporated images from her classic Playhouse productions such as 'The Breakthrough' & 'Double Echo'... The chase sequence is from the 1978 'Famous Five' series - long overdue a DVD release!! The video is full of mistakes, mysterious rippling and timecode flashes.
