The UN has stopped all flights in and out of Libya and, during a seven hour wait to board the ferry to Malta, tempers flare. Despite these hardships Libya prospers. A Libyan official speaks frankly about his leader and admits mistakes have been made. He expresses regret for Libya's backing of the IRA and says it was revenge for Britain's part in the 1986 raid on Tripoli. We visit Qadhafi's bombed house - an eerie shrine to his daughter who died in that attack. Human rights abuses are detailed by a former university lecturer in Libya. He talks of lynchings in the university grounds. This film challenges the West's view of Libya and looks at Qadhafi's struggles both at home and abroad.

Someone better tell FightTheSmears.com that Libyan leader Mu'ammar al-Qadhafi is a 'right-winger', lol, and saying that Obama is a Muslim and that Obama has an inferiority complex. Come on FightTheSmears.com, George Soros isn't just paying you to sit on your butts, lol You better start 'clearifying' that Obama is NOT a Muslim to all those Muslim countries and American Muslims who BELIEVE that Barack Obama is a Muslim. You better tell them that Obama is a born again Christian and not Muslim...those right-win...oh, wait...Muslims. Qadhafi goes on to mention that Obama should be proud of his African, Muslim [sic] identity. The Libyan gives his take on the current elections campaign in the United States. Qadhafi was responding to Obama's AIPAC pandering in which he stated Jerusalem shall be undivided at the Isralobby's 2008 Policy Conference. This statement incurred the wrath of the Arab media which led Obama to later 'readjust' his statement. Everytime I watch a Qadhafi speech I burst into laughter. This man -- a merge of Mick Jagger and Gene Simmons -- tends to be an Africanist one day and a pan-Arabist the next. The man is getting old. Have fun watching! Originally broadcast on al-Jazeera TV. I would like to know people's opinion about Kadafi's prediction for Europe. Europe's expansion as a future power include Islamic countries. The Muslim current population in Europe it is said to be around 55 millions. If Turkey joins the EU it is estimated to increase to 150 Millions. Some mullahs like the idea in order to spread Islam with intensity once Turkey is within Europe. This fact will inevitably have an impact in Europe. Please feel free to leave your comments.

Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency. But we were taken by surprise when our African Kenyan brother, who is an American national, made statements that shocked all his supporters in the Arab world, in Africa, and in the Islamic world. We hope that this is merely an elections "clearance sale," as they say in Egypt -- in other words, merely an elections lie. As you know, this is the farce of elections -- a person lies and lies to people, just so that they will vote for him, and afterwards, when they say to him: :"You promised this and that," he says: "No, this was just elections propaganda." This is the farce of democracy for you. He says: "This was propaganda, and you thought I was being serious. I was fooling you to get your votes." Allah willing, it will turn out that this was merely elections propaganda. Obama said he would turn Jerusalem into the eternal capital of the Israelis. This indicates that our brother Obama is ignorant of international politics, and is not familiar with the Middle East conflict. We say to him: Brother, the whites and blacks in America are equal. They are all immigrants. America belongs neither to the whites nor to the blacks. America belongs to its original inhabitants, the Indians. Both the whites and the blacks immigrated to America, and so they are equal, and Obama has the right to hold his head high, and say: "I am a partner in America. This is my land as much as it is yours. If it is not my land, it is not yours either. It is the land of the Indians. You are immigrants, and so are we." [...] We still hope that this black man will take pride in his African and Islamic identity, and in his faith, and that [he will know] that he has rights in America, and that he will change America from evil to good, and that America will establish relations that will serve it well with other peoples, especially the Arabs.

April 1997 In March 1997 Libya celebrated the 20th anniversary of Jamahiriya, the state of the masses. The "brother leader", Muammar Al Qadhafi, is eschewing political parties and representative democracy. Our journalist is bussed in from Tunisia across flat desert, he is forbidden from filming once across the Libyan border. He arrives at a conference for the Organisation for African Unity and joins foreign ministers at a banquet. Clad in lilac robes, Qadhafi sweeps in and delivers a 2 hour harangue against America's "interference". As several ministers fall asleep, he says, "you are tired of listening". A crowd of young men dressed in shiny tracksuits runs to the entrance of the hotel as delegates emerge. All clutch printed signs in support of the OAU. Denying that they were ordered to come, they claim to be members of a "political committee". We film the General People's Conference in action: despite lively debate, a delegates admits that the conference always abides by Qadhafi's "proposals". Qadhafi throught the back, protected by his military cohorts while he glides to his podium. A sceptical report on Qadhafi's Libya and his manipulation of the foreign media.
