please help me choose an sdhc camcorder

Please give me your opinion on camcorders that use SDHC (so SD) memory cards! I have a Panasonic Lumix FX-01. It takes great movies but doesn't zoom. I tried the Sanyo Xacti E1, which I found to be an ergonomic nightmare. When the video screen is flipped out, there's just a slim section of camera left to hold onto and you have to use your pinky and ring finger to hold on and it's tough. Plus, it is difficult to zoom in/out without shaking the camera. This camera's okay if you want to use two hands, otherwise, forget it. Then I tried the Canon Powershot A720 IS. Since I got such good movies from the Panasonic Lumix, I though this would be good. Well, it does take excellent movies. But the zoom in/out is sporadic while taking movies. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Then next camcorder I tried was the Panasonic SDR-S10. The camera is nice and small, easy to use, ergonically super, but the video quality absolutely SUCKS!!!! And even worse, it records video in .MOD format which neither Windows Movie Makrer nor Sony Vegas Studio can use. What was Panasonic thinking? I really want to get a camcorder with a 10x (or more) optical zoom, image stabilization, is small and takes video in a standard format. Recommend something - PLEASE! This is ridiculous.
