This DVD compiles mega-intense T.S.O.L. performances from both the Flipside and Target Video vaults, circa 1983. Featuring Jack Grisham (Vocals), Ron Emory (Guitar), Mike Roche (Bass), and Francis Gerald Barnes (Drums), this footage clearly defines T.S.O.L. as the founding fathers of vicious grindcore. Considered by many to be at his best in a live setting as apposed to the studio, Jadakiss is very much in his element in this spectacular set filmed in London in 2005. It features highlights and hits from his recent solo work as well as his earlier recordings made with The Lox and The Ruff Ryders. The set includes the hits, 'Time's Up', 'Knock Yourself Out', 'U Make Me Wanna', 'We Gonna Make It' (his instant underground classic about street mayhem), 'Put Ya Hands Up' and 'Why'. The last-named caused uproar over its linking George Bush with a 9/11 conspiracy theory and was banned and censored by US radio stations. Despite his tough and uncompromising social and political songs, often with inspired lyrics dealing with everyday life on the mean streets - guns, drug-dealing and robbery and suchlike - they have nevertheless crossed over into the pop mainstream. 1st Inmates DVD ever released! Two fantastic performances from '80, the heyday of this excellent maximum R&B/garage group. Includes their US/UK Hot 100 hit (a killer version of The Standells "Dirty Water"). This DVD features excerpts of two performances (Dingwalls in London, Nelsons in Wimbledon) from 1980, the heyday of this wonderful group. These historical audio/visual recordings have been restored from existing source tapes. The Inmates were formed in North London in 1977 and soon established themselves as one of the capital's most popular live groups. Their influences included The Animals, The Pretty Thing and The Rolling Stones. They arrived at the tail end of the pub-rock movement, but still managed to find success with their mix of originals and covers of classic R&B and Rock & Roll tunes. Of the latter, a version of the Standells' "Dirty Water," included on the band's 1979 debut First Offence, became a hit on both sides of the Atlantic (reaching #51 on The Billboard Hot 100). Capitalizing on chart success throughout Europe & North America, the early eighties saw the band confirm their international status. They continue to tour successfully throughout Europe. This DVD serves as an important document of the Inmates and their contributions to Rock n Roll.
