Real-time surface rendering has come a long ways since the days of plain diffuse textures and lightmaps. Per-pixel lighting, reflection and refraction effects, and even GPU ray tracing are now possible, thanks to the programmable rendering pipeline. Of course, this added flexibility comes at a cost of increased complexity. Convincing materials are a combination of both good artwork and skilled programming. Leadwerks Engine includes a library of advanced shader effects an artist can choose from, as well as a flexible framework with which new effects can be added.

crysis warhead - 8600gt all very/high besides shaders medium

Crysis Warhead on a 8600GT, Everything Gamer (High) except shadows Enthusiast (Very High) and Shaders Mainstream (Medium), Motion Blur is what causes a bit of the stuttering though, without that I can go with these other settings 1280x960 with 25+ FPS constant I can go Shaders Gamer (High) at 1024x768 with Shaders Minimum (Low) and get about 25-30 FPS. And Shaders Enthusiast (Very High) at 18-23 FPS. Different nice looking combinations that all work well. This game is perfect if you have an 8600 GT/GTS or a 8800 GT! It just looks so nice with the intense shadowing though Just watch the video, and YES this game runs so much better than the original, and the gameplay is pretty nice too.
