Each with their own skills, they must cooperate to escape the space ship on wich they have been abducted. From this simple game concept results on one of the most innovative games ever made. And it still plays as good and fun as ever!

The Simpsons, America's favorite 4 fingered yellow skin family. For 19 years they have graced our TV screens, and naturyaly, virtualy every console system ever made from the NES up. Bart's Nightmare was my first ever SNES american cart, and just like the name suggests, it's one crazy trip into a really psychotic version of Springfield. I really love this level on the vid, Bartzilla. It was really funny to see people throwing Megadrives (Genesis US) at Bartzilla. Naturally on the Megadrive version, they throw out SNES instead, it was a fun detail when the 16 bit console wars were raging.

snes legend of mystical ninja (ganbare goemon)

Now heres a Wii Virtual Console release that took me by surprise. The Legend of Mystical Ninja (or Ganbare Goemon) is an hilarious single or two player adventure into the wacky world of Kid Ying (Goemon) and Dr Yang (Ebisumaru) and their (mis)adventures across the land. I simply LOVE the town music. I also like the way that if you start making trouble, the town enforcers go GTA on you. And of course, everyone loves to be able to enter the arcade and play level 1 of Gradius III! I didn't really mind the fact they changed the names of the main characters on this version, but was happy to see their original names retained on the next 2 chapters the were releases in the West, the N64 games. Its a shame that the next 3 SNES chapters never left Japan (I have vids of them and will upload them asap), but at least, since this is now on Wii VC, I think its both realistic and optimistic to believe that both excelent N64 versions will eventualy be re-released somewhere along the way. Who knew that smoking pipes, coins and Yoo-Yoo's where such great weapons? Mind you, I'd never toss money out at enemies... And please disregard my poor playing skills, I was dead tired when recording this...

This is the sequel to Bart's Nightmare. Same minigame approach, but I never found this one to be as good as the original. Still it had decent graphics and voices, witch porbably was more the enought to make Simspons fans happy.

snes ninja warriors again - ninja

Natsume and Taito delivered one of the finest side scrooling beat'em'ups exclusive to the SNES, the reamke/sequel to one of my fav arcade games, The Ninja Warriors. Its a shame its one player only. This is level 1 with Ninja. Due note, the US version had the blood removed. You wont see blood, in this one because Ninja doesn't use blades, he just grabs people up and throws them around, wich is quite funny.

Easly one of my favorite videgames of all time, this 1992 Zelda outing still feels fresh and added lots of elements that made this series so good. It was later remade on the GBA and im really looking forward to having this on Wii V.C. (out in Japan only at the moment of uploading). Enjoy the introduction and the very first steps of a game that changed forever my concept of both videogames and Nintendo. Update: Oun in the USA January 22

My Xmas vid! Why not celebrate the birth of GOD's child then to play as GOD himself! That's right, altough heavy retranslated and toned down, there are still too many hints on this unique (and personal favorite) Super Nintendo game to fool anyone. Enix gave the SNES the definitive GOD vs THE DEVIL game, that brings so many fond memories to anyone who was fortunate to play it back in 1990 (Let hope Nintendo and Square-Enix put this quickly on Wii VC, eh?). This small vid demonstrates the distinct 2 types of gameplay on Actraiser, both to the music of Yuzo Koshiro (of Streets of Rage fame). Ill be rediscovering this gem well into Christmas day, so to all, Merry Christmas from Shiryu! v ^_^ PS: If you're a true ActRaiser fan, make sure you get the AGTP (Aeon Genesis Translation Proclamation) translations patch for the original Japanese version of the game. It's simply perfect, with no name changing ("Lord" is "God", "Tanzra" is "Satan", etc...) and much harder then the original US/Euro release. Update: Confirmed on the Wii Virtual Console, the first ever Enix title on the system! Update: The wait is over, now available on Wii VC PAL on this day, April 13th 2007. Update: Finnally across the Atlantic, out now on American Wii VC on this day, May 28th 2007.
