ufo - nasa sts-118 spacehab watchers

1:18
Never mind those 2 round things in outer-space over to the right. NASA would rather not talk about them. Oh, and that blinking thing that's passing ahead of the direction of orbit, let's not mention that either.

sts 77 - space shuttle endeavor

2:16
NASA's flight of shuttle Endeavour is devoted to opening the commercial space frontier. During the flight the crew will perform microgravity research aboard the commercially owned and operated SPACEHAB module. The mission will also deploy and retrieve the Spartan-207/IAE (Inflatable Antenna Experiment) satellite and will also rendezvous with a test satellite. A suite of four technology experiments known as the Technology Experiments for Advancing Missions in Space (TEAMS) will also fly in the Shuttle's payload bay. sts-116 cargo transfer to launch pad

9:09
The payload canister is loaded with the P5 integrated truss segment and SPACEHAB module and transfered to Launch Pad 39B. The canister will be moved into the environmentally controlled payload changeout room on Nov. 7. Now fully assembled inside Kennedy Space Center's Vehicle Assembly Building, Space Shuttle Discovery is set to begin the 4.2-mile trip to Launch Pad 39B at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9. Once Discovery is in place at the pad, the payloads will be transferred into the orbiter's payload bay. The Payload Canister holds payloads in transit from various processing or assembly facilities to the launch pad (for vertically installed payloads) or to the Orbiter Processing Facility (for horizontally installed payloads). Each environmentally controlled Canister can carry payloads up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) in diameter and 60 feet (18.3 meters) long, matching the capacity of the orbiter payload bay. Maximum payload weight is approximately 50,000 pounds (22,680 kilograms). The Payload Canister Transporter is a 48-wheel, self-propelled truck which can transport the Canister and its hardware either in a vertical or a horizontal position. It is 65 feet (19.8 meters) long and 23 feet (7 meters) wide, with a flatbed that can be lowered and raised from about 5 feet (1.5 meters) to 7 feet (2.1 meters), if required. Independently steerable wheels permit the Transporter to move forward, backward, sideways, and diagonally, or turn on its own axis like a carousel. Diagonally opposed operator cabs are located on each end of the truck. When operating between buildings or sites, the transporter uses a 340-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine. Indoors, drive power relies on a 45-kilowatt, 480 VAC 3 electric motor to avoid exhausting hydrocarbons inside the clean room environment. Fully loaded, its top speed is about 5 miles (8 kilometers) per hour. But it can creep as slowly as a 0.25 inch (0.635 centimeter) per second, or approximately 0.014 miles (0.022 kilometers) per hour, for payloads which require precise handling.

nasa full launch - sts 107 - colombia last launch [2003]

3:18
Mission:STS-107 Migrogravity Research Mission/SPACEHAB Space Shuttle: Columbia Launch Pad: 39A Launched: January 16, 2003, 10:39 a.m. EST Landing:(PLANED) Feb. 1 2003 9 a.m. EST Orbital Insertion Altitude: 122 nautical miles Orbit Inclination: 51.60° Jan. 16, 2003, at 10:39 a.m. EST, Columbia lifted off on time on the first shuttle mission of the year. It carried seven crew members, including the first Israeli astronaut, on a marathon international scientific research flight. KSC landing was planned for Feb. 1 after a 16-day mission, but Columbia and crew were lost during reentry over East Texas at about 9 a.m. EST, 16 minutes prior to the scheduled touchdown at KSC. A seven-month investigation followed, including a four month search across Texas to recover debris. The search was headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, La. Nearly 85,000 pieces of orbiter debris were shipped to KSC and housed in the Columbia Debris Hangar near the Shuttle Landing Facility. The KSC debris reconstruction team identified pieces as to location on the orbiter, and determined damaged areas. About 38 percent of the orbiter Columbia was eventually recovered.
