san francisco - church of saints peter と paul, north beach

1:37
Day 2 (February 22, 2008) of our San Francisco adventure began more promisingly: bright sunshine greeted us as we made our way by public bus to Washington Square, the heart of San Francisco's Italian North Beach neighbourhood. We set off to meet Tom Medin, who runs Local Tastes of the City Tours, who was going to take us around this neighbourhood and introduce us to all sorts of interesting culinary treats. Tom explained that San Francisco is a city for foodies - high quality fresh food plays an enormously important role in the locals' lives. Shopping habits are very similar to the old European ways: people go shopping on foot in their local neighbourhoods and visit all sorts of specialty stores such as bakeries, pastry shops, vegetable stores, delicatessens, butcher shops and many more. Food is bought fresh almost every day, and a home-cooked leisurely dinner is an important part of the social agenda. Cafés and coffee houses also thrive here. Our first stop was Caffe Roma where owner Toni Azzolini explained to us the coffee roasting process and had us taste some of his famous capuccino. Coffee is roasted freshly on site and their most popular blend includes four different coffee varieties from different countries, all purchased from small-scale farmers who don't use pesticides or fertilizer. We then went to XOX Truffles where we saw the truffle-making process in action. The owner Jean-Marc Gorce graciously equipped us with a little paper bag full of some these French delicacies. After a brief visit to the Saints Peter and Paul Church where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio had their wedding pictures taken, Liguria Bakery was next where we had a chance to taste some real Italian foccaccia bread, the only type of bread that is made at this bakery. Up the road we continued to the Italian French bakery where we saw a century old bakery oven in action and got to taste various home-baked goodies. At Palermo Delicatessen we got to sample two different types of olive oil and some real Italian salamis, copa meat and fresh mozzarella. The Victoria Pastry Company welcomed us with a free sampling of fresh canoli and at Caffe Trieste we got to admire the place where Francis Ford Coppola wrote the script for Godfather III. Lots of other local and international celebrities have visited this popular neighbourhood café. This 3.5 hour culinary tour gave us great insight into the San Francisco mindset and strengthened us for a steep walk to our next destination: Coit Tower.

walk a mile in my shoes - joe south and elvis.

4:05
If you have ever had a disrespectful or scornfully abusive remark left because of your beliefs, faith, race, nationality, accent (I'm southern and proud of it), geographic location, culture, and any of the other reasons which are too numerous to state here, I recorded this song and dedicate it to you. (If you cannot understand what I am saying, full lyrics are listed below). I'm also not saying I agree with everything people say, moral relativism, all paths lead to truth and the like. I DO have strong beliefs. That is not the point of this video. This IS ALL about how we treat people. Always remember when you put down a person you have never met on the internet that they are a real human being with a real life and people who love them just like you. This video contains photos that happen to be on my Mac of my beautiful wife and son, extended family, a small sampling of our very special friends and some of the fun things we have done in the past seven years alone. Yes, I too am a real human being who loves and is blessed to be loved by others and have them in my life. This is also dedicated to my friends, brothers and sisters in Christ who have been on the receiving end of hateful and negative comments and video responses left on their You Tube videos when they are exercising their God given right to state their opinions, sharing the hope of the Gospel and only responding with love and grace. You are an inspiration to me. This is also a word to nominal Christians I sometimes see. If you engage in that same behavior and try to bate others you are not following the commandments of Christ. (I'm not speaking to those who take a true stand for Christ with genuine love. Jesus was firm, but never used profanity). I suggest you actually crack the Bible and get back on track. Yes, that is a rebuke and Paul said for us to do that too as brothers and sisters. Look that up too while you're at it. Peace. 1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, Now finally about this song. It was written by the genius Joe South back in 1970, give or take a year. It has been covered by everyone from Elvis, Johnny Cash and numerous others. My version is some hybrid of Joe's and Elvis' and me. It is a plea for gentleness and respect. Joe had a way of conveying this message with a clarity and beauty that few have ever been able to do without doing the very same thing. Please see: JOESOUTH.COM Joe South is one deep deep soul. As a kid I remember first hearing "Games People Play" ringing through the house on my parents stereo on a breezy summer afternoon in NC. When I heard that opening line, I stopped and just listened. I was stunned as it just got better and better. Now I'm a musician that still to this day reaches for some of that magic that comes from that beautiful voice, guitar and stunningly brilliant lyrics. I've never gotten there, but he did and I still get the chills. If anyone does not believe me, try it for yourself. Joe, if I am ever lucky enough for you to ever hear this, I love you man. Sorry that it does not come close to what you created. I tried my best. You are still untouchable when it comes to your genius. Thanks, Joe This is also dedicated to my mother and father who showed me all the good stuff, great music and love. In the words of Nick Lowe, "What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?" Walk a Mile in My Shoes Lyrics (words & music by Joe South) Artist(Band):Elvis Presley 1970 If I could be you, if you could be me For just one hour, if we could find a way To get inside each other's mind If you could see you through my eyes Instead your own ego I believe you'd be I believe you'd be surprised to see That you've been blind Walk a mile in my shoes just walk a mile in my shoes Before you abuse, criticize and accuse Then walk a mile in my shoes Now if we spend the day Throwin' stones at one another 'Cause I don't think, 'cause I don't think Or wear my hair the same way you do Well, I may be common people But I'm your brother And when you strike out You're tryin' to hurt me It's hurtin' you, Lord how mercy Walk a mile in my shoes just walk a mile in my shoes Before you abuse, criticize and accuse Then walk a mile in my shoes Now there are people on reservations And out in the ghetto And brother there, but for the grace of God Go you and I, If I only had wings of a little angel Don't you know, I'd fly To the top of a mountain And then I'd cry, cry, cry Walk a mile in my shoes just walk a mile in my shoes Before you abuse, criticize and accuse Then walk a mile in my shoes **********************

rspca australia - happy tails day

0:30
Derriere to be different and parade your posterior with pride! Spots are the new black this October! Happy Tails Day on Friday 5 October is your chance to 'get behind a great cause' and to raise funds for the RSPCA. Each year the RSPCA in Australia accepts around 135,000 animals from the community and investigates more than 46,000 complaints of animal cruelty and neglect. Now you can use your bottom to help our bottom line: buy your Happy Tails Day gear from Big W, Bendigo Bank, selected vets and pet stores selling Hill's Pet Nutrition, Peter Alexander, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics or online at www.rspca.org.au and wiggle it on Friday 5 October to show you care about protecting animals from cruelty. Why not put your backside to work selling Happy Tails Day merchandise in your workplace or local community, or get your rear into gear and organise a special Happy Tails Day event? You might ask your guests to bring a special spotty treat (try cupcakes with vanilla icing dotted with choc chips -- yum!) for a morning tea or lunch. Or how about organising a dog walk in the local park, or bringing your pet (or its photograph) to work or your community group for show and tell? For more information, or to tell us your 'happy tale' about how animals have influenced your life email HappyTailsDay@rspca.org.au

kayvon spots family guy seth macfarlane @ perez hilton mmvas

http://www.kayvontv.com/ What a treat it was to be on the Red Carpet @ Perez Hilton's MuchMusic Video Award afterparty. Yours truly got to meet tons of great people, and was even offered a side gig playing in a rock band. The only downside of the whole entire night was missing out on meeting a hero of mine, Seth McFarlane. That's right folks!! The man who created Family Guy for the Fox Bigwigs. Unfortunately I was too wrapped up making a mockery of myself in front of a band who's name I can't even remember at this point. If you look at this video closely, you will notice Seth walk right into the KayvonTV frame while we are rolling, don't worry folks I had "the powers that be" slow the footage down and zoom in after the clip, just in case you, like KayvonTV, missed Seth the first time around. Utmost proof that the great creator is indeed in our fair town! Props to you Mr. McFarlane, you have managed to avoid KayvonTV's radar, at least for the time being! seth macfarlane kayvon mmva mmvas toronto family guy stewie peter meg griffin brian Quagmire perez hilton adam west foxseth macfarlane kayvon mmva mmvas toronto family guy stewie peter meg griffin brian Quagmire perez hilton adam west fox stewie griffin comedy video movie show interview griffin creator create american dad seth mcfarlane kvon Family Guy Seth Macfarlane family guy's stewie stewie griffin griffin Family Guy animated American television sitcom created Seth MacFarlane Fox show Quahog, Rhode Island gags jokes Family Guy DVD Cartoon Network Adult Swim Fox show 2005 family Guy's Fox Broadcasting Company 1999 Super Bowl commercial straight-to-DVD movie, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. an evoteck moment

6:10
This video clip is from the Evoteck production of Calvin Burgamy's play Die Brock Molar Die The song Walk Through Any Door was written by Jeff Campbell Evoteck was one of the incarnations of the many faux theater companies that spun off of a group of people actively involved with Jan Cox and his point blank expositions on the Great Work. Unfortunately, any recordings of their many creative works where for all practical purposes nothing but an after-thought. The production values that are afforded by money are missing in these near home-movie recordings of their live shows. Yet other values are uniquely present. From the Evoteck Archival Documentation by Matt Rosenburger General Info: From 1985 to 1992, members of Jan Cox's group in Atlanta wrote, produced and staged theatrical productions at various venues. Many, not all, of the shows were videotaped. These text files document the contents of each tape. Label: DBM1 - Die, Brock Molar, Die! #1 Date: 2/10/90 Location: Taped at Evoteck Theater, Peachtree and Roswell in Buckhead (Atlanta GA USA.) Description: Full length play. DBM was the last Evoteck production at the Buckhead location. Located at the intersection of Roswell and Peachtree Roads. This served as the most "mainstream" of Evoteck venues. Over the course of four years 25 (or so) original theatrical productions as well as various "behind the scenes" creative endeavors were spun, such as the infamous One Shoe Laughing Industrial Cafe, from whose cabaret there are no known recordings. Die Brock Molar Die, was the last performance at the Buckhead location. Die, Brock Molar, Die! contains many of the classic Evoteck tropes such as futuristic themes, humor, original music, unfettered musings on the nature of life, and of course, the strange lure of cheap impulse items conveniently located near the cash register. A fitting finale. Synopsis: Jorge is the proprietor of Space Station Jorge, an all purpose interstellar convenience store and fuel depot located in the hinterlands of the galaxy. If Jorge doesn't have what you need, he can get it, including exotic forms of propulsion and whatever fuzzy knick-knacks you need to hang from your rearview mirror. An unfriendly visit by Space Pirates leads to a dicey situation in which Quinn the Rockette is dimensionally transplaced from the stage of Radio City to the Space Station, in mid-cancan. She pins her hope of return on captain Brock Molar, who arrives with a head full of secrets and a mysterious mission to complete. Everyone has something the others want, and as the characters circle one another in a deadly showdown, a unit of lucidity arrives in which all secrets and true identities are revealed. Biography Destruction was formed as "Knight of Demon" in Lörrach, Germany in 1982. The original line-up featured vocalist and bassist Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer, drummer Tommy Sandmann, and guitarist Mike Sifinger. They soon changed their name to "Destruction" and released a demo titled Bestial Invasion of Hell in 1984. After this the group signed with Steamhammer Records and released an EP titled Sentence Of Death later that year. Destruction released their first full-length album titled Infernal Overkill in 1985, followed by Eternal Devastation in 1986, Release from Agony in 1988, and Cracked Brain in 1990. In 1989, Marcel Schirmer was asked to leave the band due to creative differences and the group underwent a period of commercial deterioration. During the grunge explosion during the early to mid 1990s, the band lost their record label support and had to self-release and produce their own albums. In 1999, Schirmer rejoined and things began to look up for the band as they signed a record deal with Nuclear Blast. They then released three more albums; All Hell Breaks Loose in 2000, The Antichrist in 2001, and Metal Discharge in 2003. The band would then sign with AFM Records and release Inventor of Evil in 2005. The band's latest album, D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N., is to be released in August 2008.
