Title: Whereafter
Choreographed and Performed by: Brennan Figari
Music: Excerpts from "The Fountain: Soundtrack"
Thanks to Kristi Kuhn for being my mentor!
My first choreographed dance piece. Pretty somber, but that's where I was when I first started creating it. I of course can tell you what it's about and what I'm not happy about in terms of my performance and choreography, but I'll spare you the details.
DON'T READ TILL AFTER YOU WATCH!!!
So the piece is basically about loss. At the beginning it was about death, and the five stage of grieving, so I look at those and just played in the studio coming up with moves that I liked. As the piece went on, I kinda broadened the scope, to just loss in general, not necessarily death. Let me know if you saw any of this in my piece, or if I've become one of those "modern dance" dancers! :)

Amar Singh Rathore was the heir apparent to the throne of Marwar, who not only was deprived of his right to succession, but was also exiled from the State, whereafter he retired to the Mughal court. His exceptional gallantry on the battle fields impressed the emperor who bestowed upon him the chiefship of Nagaur and elevated him to a very high rank in the nobility.
However, he is remembered for upholding his dignity and intrepidity exhibited in full view of the emperor in the Mughal court at Agra, by murdering Salabat Khan, the Paymaster General for the latter's insolent conduct towards Amar Singh. Amar Singh was overpowered and killed, but the saga of his daunting spirit and heroic action survived for long in the ballads of the minstrels. タグ:kshatriyarajputrajpootamarsinghrathore 投稿日: February 19, 2008, 9:19 am 閲覧数: 2754 投票: 5.00(5点満点) 3 人の平均
